Preacher - Pastor

He has been preaching almost as long as he has been talking. When Markel Rashad Hutchins was a chubby 8-year-old little boy, he would assemble stuffed animals and gather family members together to preach to them. Reared in a small African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, he noticeably displayed natural gifts and personality characteristics seemingly tailored for ministry.
At the age of sixteen (16), he formally accepted the call to ministry, was licensed to preach and begin ministering at churches locally and across Georgia. At seventeen (17), Rev. Markel was appointed by the presiding prelate of the Sixth Episcopal District of the A.M.E. Church to serve as interim Senior Pastor of a modest congregation in middle Georgia. He converted to the Baptist denomination at age eighteen (18). Over the last two decades of ministry, he has delivered passionate, compelling and life changing messages to audiences of nearly every denomination domestically and abroad.
Throughout his life and ministry, Rev. Markel has consistently demonstrated a quality of prophetic preaching and faith-based leadership well beyond his years. Recognized as a preeminent preacher, humanitarian, community leader, activist, philanthropist, and businessman, he is an anointed man of God and is rapidly becoming a national voice calling for faith-centered leadership that marries theology with a commitment to impact humanity’s sociological challenges.
Through Markel Hutchins Ministries, he delivers prophetic and profound, timely and energetic orations to churchgoers of every kind. Through sermons, literature, special events, and television, radio and social media, Markel Hutchins Ministries operates under the premise that solutions to all of life’s problems are rooted in discovering, nurturing and propagating a lifestyle of engagement with God. Markel Hutchins Ministries is an organization dedicated to teaching and spreading the message of Jesus Christ to people of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities. Because of the public nature of his particular ministry, Rev. Hutchins has been dubbed by one iconic Atlanta clergyman as “the People’s Pastor.”
